Amalfi : Rewards of the Goddess (2009)

Kondura arrives from Tokyo to improve security at the embassy, making waves with his direct manner. A Japanese tourist who's a single mother reports that her young daughter has been kidnapped. Posing as the woman's husband, Kondura takes the lead with the kidnappers, who want money and no cops. However, the law requires that Kondura notify local authorities, who blunder a bit. Various exchanges go awry; then the kidnappers send the mother and Kondura to the Amalfi coast on what appears to be a goose chase. Why the delay? What's going on?

Ichi (2008)

Kedatangan seorang wanita cantik membawa shamisen (gitar berdawai tiga) ke sebuah kota kecil jelas menarik perhatian banyak orang di kota yang tenang itu. Tak perlu waktu lama untuk mengetahui bahwa gadis cantik tadi buta dan segera saja fakta itu dimanfaatkan tiga orang berandal yang bermaksud berbuat jahat.

Sialnya, gadis buta bernama Ichi (Haruka Ayase) ini bukanlah gadis sembarangan. Dalam waktu singkat ketiga pemuda tadi dibuat kewalahan oleh permainan pedang Ichi. Sejak kecil Ichi yang hidup sebatang kara memang selalu didatangi pria buta misterius yang mengajarkannya ilmu pedang satu tangan. Dan ketika pria misterius ini tak lagi datang, Ichi bertekad mencari pria yang ia anggap ayahnya itu.

Konon, hilangnya pria misterius yang sebenarnya adalah Zatoichi ini ada sangkut pautnya dengan Banki (Shido Nakamura) dan gerombolannya yang berkuasa di daerah itu. Kini Ichi dan sahabat barunya, Toma Fujihira (Takao Osawa), harus bersiap bertarung dengan gerombolan Banki. Pertarungan ini tak akan mudah buat Ichi karena tiba-tiba saja muncul pria bernama Toraji Shirakawa (Yôsuke Kubozuka), seorang anggota Yakuza, yang juga bermaksud menghalangi Ichi.

Seperti bisa diduga dari judulnya, film ini adalah spin off dari kisah klasik Zatoichi. Walau tidak secara tegas ditunjukkan, namun tersirat bahwa pria tua yang melatih Ichi bermain pedang adalah pendekar legendaris itu. Kisahnya pun masih tak jauh dari standar kisah pendekar pedang Jepang walau ada nuansa lain yang coba ditawarkan sang sutradara lewat film ini.

Bila biasanya Zatoichi digambarkan sebagai pendekar buta yang selalu gembira dan menghabiskan waktunya bersenang-senang, Ichi ini digambarkan lebih kelam. Nuansa sedih terlihat dari rona wajah Haruka Ayase, yang memerankan tokoh Ichi. Ini cukup unik karena tak biasanya spin off Zatoichi membawa nuansa yang suram. Memang sedikit menyimpang tapi justru di situlah nilai lebihnya.

Fumihiko Sori, sang sutradara, juga makin menguatkan kesan sedih dan kesepian ini dengan beberapa kali mengambil gambar landscape yang diselimuti salju. Dan yang lebih menarik lagi, adegan pertarungan pedang digambarkan sangat singkat namun ditata dengan apik sehingga membuat suguhan visual ini jadi terasa nyata sekaligus dramatis. Buat yang sedang bosan dengan film-film Barat atau Indonesia, ICHI ini layak dijadikan pertimbangan

Yamagata Scream 2009 (DVDRip)

High school seniors Mikayo (Riko Narumi), Chuko (Mirei Kiritani), Kei (Saaya) are forced to join a historical research club to fulfill a graduation requirement.
